Sponsorship

It’s natural to wonder, What am I meant to do? What are my gifts and talents? But know that knowing where and how to find the answers you seek can be challenging. I have met young people I asked what their gifts and talents are, only for me to see that they find it hard to identify their gifts and talents. So, if you find it hard to identify your gifts and talents, then keep reading as I explore the five ways to identify your gifts and talents to discover what you will do in life.

How do you know your gifts and talents? Here are five ways to identify them.

1. Take A Closer Look At Your Skills.

A recent study found that the happiest people have the most meaning in their lives. A closer look at your skills will help you know that what you’re passionate about doing is easy. We may only sometimes be happy with our current jobs. Still, we find it easier to be satisfied when our work aligns with our values and interests.

Ask yourself these questions:

1) What am I good at doing?

2) What type of work do I enjoy doing?

3) How can I make money doing something I enjoy?

4) Where would I like to see myself in five years?

Knowing your gifts and talents can help you focus on your goals while making more fulfilling decisions about living your life. With this information, it will be easier to pinpoint a career path that is right for you.

For example, if someone enjoys art, they might be interested in graphic design or photography. If someone loves children, they might consider being an elementary school teacher or a nanny. Once you know where you stand and what’s available regarding careers, it will be much easier to decide what steps to take next.

Remember, it’s vital to be honest with yourself about what skills you have that are valuable to others–because this is how we know our gifts. Also, even if things don’t go how you originally planned (or hoped), other options await you!

2.  Check out your interests to discover your gift and talent.

Figure out what your interests are. What do you love? Also, ask yourself what makes you feel good about yourself. What are you passionate about doing? Also, check out what gets your creative juices flowing. What do you find yourself returning to repeatedly, even when it feels like you should stop because it doesn’t seem productive?

For example, if all of your friends tell you they need help with math and science homework all the time, then you should become a tutor so they can succeed in school.

These things are clues pointing towards what your gift might be. So, if you’ve never thought about these questions, don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to start identifying your talents and skills so that you can begin using them.

Ensure to Make a list of things you like

Ensuring you list everything that makes you happy, those things you love is an excellent way to identify your gifts and talents. For instance;

1) I love spending time with friends.

2) I enjoy watching movies.

3) I like being active.

4) Cooking is a passion of mine.

5) Playing video games is one of my hobbies.

6) Reading is something that I love doing when I have the time.

7) Listening to music helps me relax after a long day.

8) Studying for school gives me great joy and excitement because I’ve loved doing it since childhood.

9) Researching different topics has been an interest of mine from an early age, so working as a researcher or in academia would make me very happy.

10) I’m good at math, so this could be an area where I excel in the future.

You should pay attention to these things to find your gifts and talents!

3. Ask Yourself, What Do I Spend My Time On?

Think about how you spend your time, whom you spend it with, what you do when you have free time, and what comes naturally to you. It might be hard to come up with a definitive answer initially, but as time goes on, it will get easier. Write down any thoughts that may seem relevant for future consideration.

Also, figure out how much time you spend on specific activities. If you spend more than 8 hours a week on one action, that should be the area of your life you should focus on doing.

In addition, ask yourself: What would I do if I could do anything in the world?

You might be surprised by this question because there are many possibilities! But remember that we all have one life – so why not explore what we want to study? We owe it to ourselves!
Lastly, think about what makes you happy or sad.

4. Get Feedback From People Who Know You Well to identify your gifts and talents.

Figure out what people say about you. You might say what people say doesn’t matter, but it does. That’s because, deep down, we know when someone is truthful. Listen to them when someone tells you you have a gift for something!

Ask friends, family members, teachers, mentors, coaches and any other people who have interacted with you often throughout your life and understand you best. Chances are they’ll be able to identify something you didn’t think of yourself. They also may know your natural talents and skills, which will help guide you on where to go next.

5. Seek guidance from People who share your interests when discovering your gifts and talents.
